The specific duties depend on the role, such as librarian, library assistant, or technician, but all focus on making information accessible to the public.

What qualifications do I need to get a job in a library?

Different library jobs have varying qualifications. To become a librarian, you need a master’s degree in either library science or information studies. Familiarity with library management systems, digital archives, and cataloguing tools like MARC or Dewey Decimal Classification is essential.
