Job description

The Medical Librarian manages the print and electronic library resources (bibliographic databases, books and e-books, and journals and e-journals) and delivery of those resources to all Baptist Health facilities, in support of evidence based practice. Responsibilities include oversight for the processing activities associated with print and electronic resources, monitoring content usage and producing reports that analyze usage data. The Medical Librarian promotes the availability of all library resources by leading marketing and outreach projects, creating dynamic web-based tutorials, and leading classroom training. Makes recommendations on content of both print and electronic collections, conducts literature searches in response to reference requests, assists with copyright compliance, and works with the Director to develop strategic initiatives. Position required to travel to multiple sites. 

Estimated salary range for this position is $58,494.88 - $76,043.34 / year depending on experience.

Additional Qualifications:
  • Masters Library Science degree.
  • Must have outstanding communication, interpersonal and collaborative skill as well as strong organizational and library technical skills.
  • Instructional experience preferred.
  • Membership in the Medical Library Association's Academy of Health Information Professionals preferred.
