The Materials and Color Developer owns seasonal material and color execution across Trove Brands' soft goods categories, including bags, accessories, and apparel. Working within the Soft Goods PM and Development team, this role translates seasonal direction into production-ready standards through raw material development, color management, CAD creation, and material library ownership. The role partners closely with Product Managers, Technical Development, Design, Supply Chain, and overseas mills and factories to ensure materials and colors are accurate, cohesive, and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and develop woven, knit, coated, and technical performance materials; manage mill outreach, sampling, evaluation, and development records.
  • Own the lab dip and color approval process from vendor submission through revisions, final approval, and bulk production.
  • Create seasonal color CADs, colorways, trend boards, and presentation templates using Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Manage seasonal color updates for carryover SKUs and maintain continuity of approved standards.
  • Maintain physical and digital material and color libraries , including swatches, lab dips, strike-offs, bulk standards, hardware, and finishes.
  • Manage daily material and color communication with overseas vendors and monitor bulk submissions for accuracy.
  • Travel internationally as needed to evaluate materials, review color, and strengthen supplier relationships.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Materials Science, Fashion Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in raw material and/or color development within fashion, lifestyle, athleisure, performance, or soft goods.
  • Strong knowledge of textile construction and raw material categories.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator .
  • Strong material sensibility and color evaluation skills.
  • Experience working directly with overseas mills and factories.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills across multiple seasonal development tracks.
  • Passion for material innovation, color trends, and creating cohesive, consumer-ready collections.
