Data Center Construction Project Manager
Location: Columbiana, Alabama (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Center Construction Project Manager to lead projects from design through commissioning and handover. This individual will coordinate contractors, engineering teams, technology vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery that meets schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the execution of data center construction projects from planning through completion.
  • Coordinate owners, general contractors, MEP consultants, civil contractors, utility providers, and technology vendors.
  • Lead project meetings, stakeholder reviews, and progress updates.
  • Manage schedules, budgets, risks, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate installation and commissioning of electrical, mechanical, network, security, and monitoring systems.
  • Oversee deployment of facility monitoring, DCIM, and physical security solutions.
  • Track project progress and communicate status to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize project management and collaboration tools to support efficient project delivery.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience managing data center, mission critical, industrial, or commercial construction projects. Experience managing general contractors, engineering firms, specialty contractors, and vendors is also required. Candidates should have a proven ability to manage project risks, drive accountability, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
Technical Skills: Experience with project management tools such as Procore, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms. Experience using AI productivity tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar technologies is also required.
Soft Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills are necessary for this role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with data centers or other mission critical facilities.
  • Knowledge of DCIM platforms, commissioning processes, physical security systems, and facility infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting hyperscale, AI, enterprise technology, or large infrastructure environments.
  • PMP, Agile, Scrum, or related project management certification.
