The Technical Marketing & Business Development Associate is a high-trajectory role designed for a technically minded storytelling professional who can work across marketing, business development, and technical communication. The ideal candidate is a strong technical communicator who works quickly to develop and update any external forms of communication. You will build and maintain Canopy’s external presence, using a next-generation set of digital and physical marketing tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, edit, and produce technical and analytical content (white papers, capability descriptions, LinkedIn posts, data sheets).
  • Maintain and improve website content, structure, and messaging.
  • Support creation of customer-facing materials (presentations, capability briefs, case studies).
  • Conduct market, customer, and competitor research in aerospace, defense, and advanced materials.
  • Coordinate participation in conferences and industry events.
  • Assist business development leadership with strategic outreach, preparation, and analysis.
  • Support our employees through regular internal marketing efforts that include physical (swag, events) and digital (employee spotlights, customer profiles)
  • Build and maintain an internal library of structured materials.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • 1–3 years experience and/or strong internships.
  • Proven writing samples (technical or analytical).
  • High attention to detail, strong organization, and self-directed execution.
  • Extreme attention to detail: email, phone, in-person, and MS office suite
  • Expert-level user of graphic design tools (Illustrator, Canva, AI tools, etc.) applied to technical concepts
  • Evidence of prior entrepreneurial endeavors and a high-energy work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to aerospace, defense, advanced materials, or adjacent sectors.
  • Experience writing technical or analytical content.
  • Familiarity with website management tools (WordPress, Webflow).
  • Experience with digital content publishing.
  • Exposure to conference or event coordination.
Physical Requirements / Work Environments
  • Ability to work in office, lab, and manufacturing environments.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs and perform tasks involving standing, walking, bending.
  • Visual acuity required for reading technical drawings and digital media.
  • Valid US driver’s license required.
  • Type: Salaried Exempt
  • Business Hours: Core (with flexibility to support global time zones)
  • Reports to: Chief Revenue Officer, Canopy Aerospace & Defense
  • Base Location: Denver, CO, Ontario, CA or Cape Canaveral, FL
  • Travel: 10–20%
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
