Job Summary
The Sourcing Intern supports the Sourcing team with the day-to-day coordination of raw materials and sample yardage activities. This internship provides hands-on exposure to fabric and trim development, supplier communication, and product tracking in PLM, with a focus on organization, data accuracy, and on-time execution.
The ideal candidate is eager to learn, comfortable working across multiple priorities, and proactive with follow-up. They collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners (Design, Product Development, Technical Design, Production) and help maintain clear documentation throughout the development process.
Key Responsibilities
• Support sales sample yardage (SSY) requests and tracking: log requests, confirm details, and follow up on deliveries
• Assist with maintaining SSY records, including organizing physical swatches and saving digital files in the correct locations
• Help with PLM data entry and upkeep for fabrics and trims (codes, descriptions, testing status, supplier information)
• Create and update tracking logs for submits and testing submissions; communicate status updates to the team
• Prepare development packages and reference charts under the guidance of the Sourcing Manager/Assistant
• Support consolidation of feedback and approvals by capturing notes and distributing recaps to cross-functional partners
• Assist in maintaining the raw material library (labeling, filing, inventory counts, and storage organization)
• Coordinate shipment intake/outbound sample packages (receive, sort, and route to the correct owners)
• Provide general administrative support to the Sourcing team as needed
Qualifications
• Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree (or recent graduate) in Fashion Merchandising, Supply Chain, Business, Textile Science, or a related field
• Strong attention to detail with comfort working in spreadsheets and tracking logs
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; willingness to learn PLM systems
• Clear written and verbal communication skills; professional follow-up with internal partners and vendors
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain organized files (digital and physical)
Preferred Qualifications
• Internship or coursework experience in sourcing, product development, production, or materials
• Interest in fabrics, trims, and basic apparel construction; familiarity with development milestones (concept through production)
• Experience with PLM, Illustrator, or similar product tracking/design tools (nice to have)
