Job description

Scope of Work
Helen Hayes Hospital is responsible for ensuring fully functional information technology systems to maintain compliance with statutory mandates and address day-to-day functions.
Helen Hayes Hospital seeks to engage with a contractor who has relevant knowledge and experience providing technology resources to achieve this goal. Twenty-four seven support is not required however one IT staff will be required on an on-call basis for weekends and holidays.
• Helen Hayes Hospital's expectation is the contractor will provide visible leadership, support and guidance on all information technology systems and projects and will serve as the designated point of contact for all information technology staff. As such, this engagement requires a fully dedicated physical presence and does not allow for working remotely.
• The contractor will assess and support maintenance of operations in the areas of application and desktop support, networking, infrastructure support as well as review existing technology contracts and advise on potential procurements.
• The contractor is required to work closely with Helen Hayes Hospital leadership and other agency stakeholders.
• The contractor will be required to provide regular status updates to Executive Leadership, to keep them informed of recent discoveries, progress, challenges, and other pertinent information.
• The contractor will be engaged on an hourly-rate basis and the engagement length is anticipated at one year.
• Contract activities are estimated to begin in the first quarter of 2025, pending approval of the Attorney General and Office of the State Comptroller.
4. Required Personnel and Minimum Qualifications
• The contractor is required to provide one fully dedicated Information Technology Specialist with at least five-years' experience managing computer programs and systems dealing with the most sensitive Hospital information including medical records and other patient information. This five years' of experience must include the capacity to fully support the Manager of IT position in all duties for the Manager of IT position described above.
There are no specific educational requirement for the Technology Specialist.
Staff will be required to work eight (8) hour shifts starting at 8:00 or 8:30 and will be provided workstations. The staff will follow the State holiday and time off schedule found here: 2025 Legal Holidays.
