ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Assist with tasks related to loaning and recollecting library materials
Assist students with finding resources for class assignments and helping them register for library cards
Check out materials, inspect returned books for damage and send out due notices for unreturned items
Teach students how to effectively use the library, answer questions about library services and help teachers locate materials for their classrooms
Catalog new arrivals and work with databases
Other duties assigned by the school media specialist and/or principal
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED
Strong computer skills
Detail oriented
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Data Utilization: Requires the ability to review, classify, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data. Includes exercising discretion in determining data classification, and in referencing such analysis to established standards for the purpose of recognizing actual or probable interactive effects and relationships.
Human Interaction: Requires the ability to provide guidance, effective supervision, assistance, and/or interpretation to others regarding the application of procedures and standards to specific situations.
