Job description

TITLE:                        Library Learning Center/Technology Aide
LOCATION: Eisenhower Junior High School- Grades 6-8

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High-School Diploma
  2. Preferred- Successful completion of a Teacher Aide training program by the State Superintendent of Education or evidencing successful completion of at least thirty semester hours of college credit in a recognized institution of higher education.
  3. Preferred- Experience and familiarity with technology (hardware, software (Google, Microsoft, etc.))
  4. Demonstrated physical fitness and freedom from communicable disease as required by School Code. (Section 24-5)


REPORTS:                Teacher(s) designated by the Principal.
JOB GOAL:               To assist the teachers in providing a well organized, smoothly functioning environment in which
                                   students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:





  1. Becoming familiar with learning center materials and equipment so you can be helpful to teachers assigning L.C. work or using curriculum aids.
  2. Under guidance of District Librarian
    1. Weeding out-dated and/or excessively worn materials.
    2. Ordering, setting up for use and keeping in repair L.C. materials.
    3. Helping students with reference materials for assignments and contracts.
    4. Helping teachers with special projects, activities, and bulletin boards.
    5. Making up and putting up the L.C. bulletin boards and decorations.
    6. Preparing L.C. for special activities.
    7. Maintaining a check out system for books, etc.
    8. Update inventory of books and audio/visual materials yearly.
  3. Under guidance of technology educators, assist with technology needs of school including:
    1. Coordinating the distribution/collection of student Chromebooks, other student technology as needed
    2. Assist with troubleshooting student technology needs
  4. Monitoring study periods.
  5. Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned. 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Ten-month year.
Hours during Student School day (6.75 Hours per day)
Starting rate of $17.22 per hour.
