Organizational Relationship: Reports to: Branch Manager/Assistant Branch Manager Overview: Performs a variety of duties relative to the organization and physical maintenance of library materials This position is year-round employment. The schedule for this position is year round bi-weekly, 20 hours a pay period. Two weekday shifts (Monday and Wednesday) and Saturdays.

Required Education/Experience: Must be at least 16 years old and a high school student Eligibility for work permit, if required Skills Required: Oral communication Alphabetizing and filing Knowledge of Dewey Decimal System Ability to complete repetitive tasks Ability to organize work to ensure efficient use of time Responsibilities/Duties: A. Essential Job Functions (All listed responsibilities/duties are considered essential to the position.) Follows established library policies and work rules Accurately shelves all library materials (books, videos, newspapers, etc.) Ensures that materials on shelf are in order (shelf reading) Shifts books as necessary to shelve materials, or as directed Straightens materials on shelves Pulls library materials to edge of shelves Straightens library furniture and materials Performs other duties as assigned Accountability: Is accountable for: Correct and neat arrangement of library materials Completing assigned tasks Communicating with supervisor or supervising librarian Meeting job expectations as defined Following work rules Performing duties in a friendly and courteous manner Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing and walking Requires reaching, bending, and carrying light to moderate loads Requires ability to move about library, pushing book carts, to shelve and straighten library materials
