We are seeking an Implementation Consultant (Functional/Project Lead) to lead the functional and project management activities required to successfully deploy our SaaS platform for enterprise utility customers. This role is critical to ensuring structured, well-coordinated, and repeatable implementations that deliver meaningful outcomes for organizations operating critical infrastructure.The Implementation Consultant serves as the functional owner of implementation workstreams, partnering closely with a dedicated Technical/Solution Consultant, Customer Support, Product Management, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality customer deployments. This role focuses on business process alignment, project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and customer enablement activities required to bring customers live, including requirements gathering, timeline management, cross-functional coordination, and functional configuration decisions involving hazard and task libraries, templates, workflows, and role-based permissions.
This is a hands-on leadership role accountable for ensuring the solution is configured to align with customer operational processes while driving successful, on-time implementations in partnership with technical delivery teams. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, collaborative, adaptable, and passionate about helping customers achieve business value through technology.This is a high-impact opportunity within a growing enterprise SaaS organization supporting the Utilities & Energy sector, where operational excellence, innovation, strong communication, and dependable project execution are essential to customer success.
Location: United States (Remote) with up to 50% travel
Duties & Responsibilities
Implementation & Project Leadership
  • Lead the functional implementation workstream for enterprise customer deployments from project kickoff through go-live, demonstrating accountability for delivery quality, customer outcomes, and overall project success.
  • Own implementation timelines, milestone tracking, risk management, and coordination across internal teams and customer stakeholders.
  • Facilitate discovery and requirements workshops to understand customer business processes, operational workflows, objectives, and success criteria.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, well-documented configuration plans, including hazard and task libraries, templates, workflows, and role-based permissions.
  • Partner closely with Technical/Solution Consultants to ensure alignment between functional requirements and technical implementation activities, including integrations, SSO, data migration, and environment setup.
  • Lead customer status meetings, steering committees, and cross-functional alignment sessions, fostering transparency and trust throughout the engagement.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, meeting notes, decisions, and implementation artifacts to support repeatable delivery practices.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance and recommendations that help customers maximize value from the platform.
Business Process & Configuration Design
  • Lead business process design sessions with customer stakeholders, including Safety Managers, Operations Leaders, Supervisors, and other operational teams.
  • Define and own configuration decisions related to forms, templates, hazard and control libraries, workflows, and system permissions.
  • Validate that configured processes accurately reflect real-world field operations and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure solutions support day-to-day operational needs while aligning with industry best practices.
  • Recommend innovative approaches that improve efficiency, consistency, and adoption across customer organizations.
Training, Adoption & Change Support
  • Support training strategy development and delivery in partnership with customer stakeholders and change management resources.
  • Identify key champions and stakeholders who can support user adoption and successful rollout activities.
  • Gather, evaluate, and incorporate user feedback during pilot programs and early go-live phases to drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote effective change management practices that help customers realize value and achieve long-term success.
Testing, Validation & Go-Live Readiness
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning and execution from a functional and business-process perspective.
  • Identify, communicate, and proactively manage implementation risks, dependencies, and blockers.
  • Support go-live readiness reviews, cutover planning, and deployment activities.
  • Ensure successful transition of customers to Customer Success and Support teams through complete knowledge transfer and documentation.
  • Monitor implementation outcomes and contribute to lessons learned activities following deployment.
Scalable Implementation Practices
  • Identify recurring configuration and implementation challenges and develop reusable templates, playbooks, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to influence platform enhancements based on customer feedback and implementation experience.
  • Create and maintain implementation documentation that improves delivery consistency, reduces manual effort, and increases deployment efficiency.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of implementation methodologies, tools, and customer onboarding experiences.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in implementation consulting, project management, business analysis, customer success, or customer-facing SaaS deployment roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading project or functional workstreams for enterprise software implementations.
  • Strong ability to translate customer business requirements into scalable, well-documented configuration and process solutions.
  • Proven project management capabilities, including timeline management, stakeholder engagement, risk identification, and dependency tracking.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with technical consultants, customer stakeholders, and cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to facilitate workshops and build trusted customer relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an agile, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives while maintaining attention to detail and customer satisfaction.
  • Commitment to accountability, collaboration, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience implementing software solutions for utility, energy, industrial, infrastructure, or other highly regulated organizations.
  • Experience deploying software solutions to field or frontline workforces, including mobile applications and operational platforms.
  • Familiarity with organizational change management, training programs, and technology adoption strategies.
  • Experience with business process analysis, workflow design, and configuration-intensive SaaS platforms.
  • Experience creating or supporting operational reporting and dashboards using Power BI or similar analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of enterprise implementation methodologies and customer onboarding best practices.
  • Experience working within a high-growth technology company focused on customer success and continuous innovation.
