JOB TITLE: PF Color Lab Stain Tech Blender


DEPARTMENT: PF Color Lab

REPORTS TO: PF Color Lab Team Leader


JOB SUMMARY:

This position involves multi-tasking and good organizational skills. Entails mixing stains, wash coats, toners & paints for in-house customers. Keep up with in-house customers’ requests for custom mixed products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Tinting/Mixing UV Stains
  • Tinting/Mixing Custom (solvent based) Stains
  • Tinting/Mixing Wash Coats
  • Tinting/Mixing Toners
  • Tinting/Mixing Paints for Exterior Door Line
  • Staging Products for Production
  • Filling/Cleaning Tint Dispensers

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cleaning mixers & mixing tables
  • Keeping track of product usage/ Crush cans as needed
  • Dispose of rags & supplies
  • Returning Blend Boards to Library as needed.
  • Keeping the Color Lab/Library area Clean
  • Assisting in disposal of outdated products


NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Good eye for color
  • Organizational skills
  • Need to be able to multitask
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Outlook and Excel


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school GED or higher
  • 2-3 years’ experience in the pre-finish industry helpful


Daily Work Expectations: Product usage and can disposal, Vendor deliveries/check, and stock shelves, create blend boards, create stains for orders/shop use, record formulas, create customer sign-off, Spee-Dee or UPS to customer, assist where needed, Maintain quality standards.

Work Environment/Conditions: Pre-finish color lab, computer lab, shop floor

Required Work Hours: Flex schedule according to workload (35-60 hour weeks)

PPE Required: Safety glasses, Rubber gloves, Respirators
