Overview:


The Associate Designer will work closely with Designers to support and develop seasonal apparel lines and select and seek approval for all raw materials and colors.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist Designers in market research, trend presentations, and sourcing all raw materials
  • Create CAD sketches of styles in development
  • Ensure the accuracy of technical packs, which include detailed sketches, fabric and garment construction, and trim pages and placement ย ย ย 
  • Meet all deadlines in adherence to the seasonal design calendar ย 
  • Contribute to the creation and design of lines ย ย ย 
  • Set up seasonal presentation(s)
  • Assist in maintaining link files, assortment boards, fabric and color library, design archives library, and inspiration boards
  • Help communicate master catalog(s) updates to Design Coordinators ย ย ย 
  • Track the weekly sample schedule to ensure relevant deadlines and milestones are being met, appropriate files are shared, and help to communicate updates accordingly ย 
  • Email sales when new samples are received ย ย ย 
  • Help communicate packaging request to the Packaging Team ย ย ย ย 
  • Special projects as assigned ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities/Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design with a strong knowledge of garment construction
  • 2+ years of experience in the fashion industry as an Assistant or Associate Designer (children's wear experience a plus)
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills with attention to detail
  • Brand appropriate aesthetic
  • Ability to sketch brand right designs
