This role is part of Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE), supporting Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. The team fosters innovation and drives engineering workflows of the future, shared solutions and standards, simplicity and lower costs, and manufacturable design.

This role is part of Blue Origin Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering. Enterprise Engineering (EE) is the nucleus of the engineering culture at Blue Origin which provides technical standards, processes, and expertise which fully leverages Blue's technical talent and exploits economies of scale across the enterprise to achieve low-cost access to space and profitability to all Blue business units. EE ensures engineering excellence across Blue Origin through strategic deployment of technical expertise (chief engineers, technical fellows, technical library), sustained engineering excellence and innovation through centralized multi-user laboratories, and efficient and well-understood products and processes through engineering tools/standards/processes.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with Production and Materials teams to resolve part discrepancies

  • May be required to interface with departments throughout the company

  • Must possess good organizational skills, the ability to work well with others, good decision-making skills, and the ability to think outside the box

  • Process Scrap and obsolete inventory from WIP locations as required.

  • Control the proper access and consumption of material and VMI in Avionics Dev Lab and Failure Analysis

  • Implement material stocking strategy on production lines, monitor, control and maintain proper floor stock

  • Schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders

  • Coordinate interdepartmental activity with warehouse, inspection, quality, operations, purchasing, engineering, logistics and program.

  • Provide detailed status of work in progress, material availability, and communicates constraints to schedule

  • Maintain and manage all calibration equipment ensuring compliance with calibration schedules and standards
  • Track calibration records and coordinate recertification activities for lab equipment and tooling
  • Train lab customers on Scireo Asset Management software for checking out tools and reserving benches
  • Conduct regular walk-through inspections to ensure customers are returning tooling and vacating reserved lab spaces on time
  • Manage tool libraries and ensure proper tool allocation and control across Kent, Denver, and Phoenix Avionics Dev Labs
  • Coordinate bench reservation system and resolve scheduling conflicts
  • Operate forklift to transport and dispose of materials and pallets to their prescribed locations as necessary
  • Maintain organized and safe work areas through proper material handling and disposal practices
  • Assist with creating and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for lab operations and material management
  • Serve as primary point of contact for tool checkout, bench reservation, and lab access questions

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years supply chain experience

  • Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)

  • Experience with activities related to planning and/or scheduling

  • Experience working with a cross functional team

  • Excellent computer skills with MS Office, ERP experience with MRP execution desired.

  • Excellent written /verbal communications skills

  • Demonstrates understanding andis able toapply continuous improvementterminology/tools:LEAN, Six Sigma principles/DFSS/Lean design principles, Value Stream, and Kaizen

Preferred Qualifications

    • Associate or bachelor's Degree

    • Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends and travel on occasion

    • Based upon job duties,mayneed to work in various areas that may cause exposure to fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals (well below OSHA and ACGIH exposure guidelines), outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts and/or be part of a hearing conservation program due to noise levels around certain equipment.

    • Mustwear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.

    • Experience with ERP systems

    • Ability to handle multiple decisions based on workload dispersion, program priorities and management and customer decisions

    • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word,etc)

    • Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and oral communication skills

    • Strong math and analytical skills to solve problems

    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail


Base Pay Range for:

WA applicants is $78,749.00 - $110,247.90
