The successful candidate will be responsible for RNA-seq, scRNA-seq, snRNA-seq, and other types of -seq library preparations for all CMR groups. This will be a cross-therapeutic area role encompassing opportunities to impact science in the Boston team.

Job Responsibilities
  • Execute NGS library preparation (e.g., bulk RNA, scRNA, snRNA sequencing), quantification, and sequencing workflows to support the CMR team.
  • Internalize and develop new NGS workflows to support evolving needs.
  • Develop and adhere to standard operating procedures for workflows to ensure consistent production of high-quality data.
  • Work in the sequencing space cross-functionally, with the ability to manage multiple requests and queues.
  • Deliver NGS data with clear expectations of timelines to multiple teams and promptly update stakeholders of run completion.
  • Effectively manage inventory of DNA, RNA, libraries, and sequencing reagents.
  • Perform additional related tasks (i.e., RNA extraction, qPCR/ddPCR) as needed to help the team meet goals and deliverables.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of NGS run performance and scientific work in an electronic notebook.
  • Participate in assessment of sample prep and sequencing workflows at other sites (Indianapolis and/or contract research organizations) to enable flex capacity when demand is high (no travel required).
Job Requirements
  • B.S. and/or M.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or a related field) with 3-5 years of laboratory research experience.
  • Molecular biology mastery of nucleic acid extraction and purification, quantification, NGS library preparation/QC, and qPCR.
  • Strong background in NGS technologies and their applications, including quantification, sequencing, and data QC (preferably Illumina). Direct experience with RNA-seq (bulk) and amplicon-seq.
  • Direct experience with single-cell and single-nucleus RNA-seq library preparation is required. Candidates must be familiar with multiple scRNA-seq/snRNA-seq platforms (e.g., 10X Genomics Chromium, Illumina PIP-seq, ScaleBio, or Parse Biosciences).
Additional Skills/Preferences:
  • Familiarity with CRISPR-based gene editing and high-throughput screening is a plus.
  • Experience with automation is a plus (Mantis, Integra systems, Liquid Handlers, SPTLabtech Firefly, Tecan, etc).
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Experience with documentation in electronic notebook software.
