Job description

A commercial electrical contractor is looking for an Electrical Estimator to join their team in Wilmington, NC. This is a direct hire, backfill position for someone who can work independently and as part of a team to produce accurate, competitive bids across a range of project sizes.
Electrical Estimator Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for commercial electrical projects
- Review bid documents including drawings, specifications, and addenda for both public and private sector work
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Develop project-specific labor, material, equipment, and overhead cost breakdowns
- Coordinate with project managers and field staff to validate scope and assumptions
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client clarification calls
- Maintain and update the estimating database, unit cost library, and historical bid records
- Support project handoff to operations teams upon award
Electrical Estimator Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in estimation; electrical estimation experience strongly preferred, but would also consider general contractor or other specialty contractor experience
- Bachelors or associates degree is a plus
