PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to bring on a highly skilled Textile Designer – Knitwear Engineer. In this role, you’ll bridge design and engineering to create advanced, high-performance knitted textiles used in cutting-edge applications. Your expertise will directly influence product innovation, durability, and manufacturability in a fast-evolving technical environment.


What You’ll Do

As a Knitwear Engineer, you’ll turn concepts into production-ready textile solutions:

  • Design and program knit structures using STOLL M1+ (M1plus) software
  • Develop and prototype textiles on STOLL flat knitting machines (CMS series preferred)
  • Translate product concepts into functional, manufacturable knit designs
  • Optimize knit structures for performance, fit, and durability
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to refine designs
  • Troubleshoot knitting challenges including yarn behavior, tension, and defects
  • Maintain organized libraries of knit programs, standards, and documentation
  • Support innovation initiatives in technical and performance textiles

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in knitwear design or knit programming
  • Hands-on experience with STOLL flat knitting machines
  • Proficiency in STOLL M1+ software
  • Strong knowledge of yarns, fibers, and knit structures
  • Ability to independently develop, test, and refine knit programs
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • High school diploma required; portfolio required

Preferred Qualifications:

Pay Details: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour
