Job description

This role will focus on establishing and sustaining bestinclass MCAD tools and practices across the organization by developing and managing Various global libraries and templates/formats. The individual will also help to provide functional MCAD support, resolve applicationrelated issues, and improve MCAD usage through proofs of concept (POCs) for advanced tool functionalities and modules.

The associate MCAD Engineer will help to develop MCAD SOPs and job aids, lead CAD and PDM upgrades from the engineering requirements perspective and serve as the primary engineering point of contact for MCAD solution providers to report, track, and drive resolution of toolrelated issues and enhancements.

This position requires effective collaboration with multiple internal and external organizations and will actively support Vertiv's digital platforms, including PTC Windchill, Various third-party tools supporting multiple MCAD platforms, and Oracle PDM/PLM, which are critical for business execution.

 

Responsibilities

  • Improve MCAD usage by developing best design practices, standards, and proofs of concept for MCAD tool functionalities and modules.
  • Implement and monitor governance for MCAD design and PDM system usage across global teams.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain MCAD libraries, including: 
    • Part libraries
    • Feature libraries
    • MCAD start parts (parts, assemblies, drawings)
    • Drawing templates and formats
  • Provide functional MCAD application support, including resolution of user queries and toolrelated issues.
  • Define and maintain MCAD SOPs, job aids, and procedure documentation.
  • Lead CAD and PDM upgrades from the engineering requirements and usability perspective.
  • Act as the engineering point of contact for MCAD solution providers to report, track, and follow up on tool issues and enhancement requests.
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of multiple CAD tools such as Creo, Solid Edge, SolidWorks, and Inventor.
  • Familiarity with Creo configuration (config.pro and related settings) to support the MCAD Admin team.
  • Ability to evaluate and implement MCAD best practices across Creo and other MCAD tools.
  • Familiarity with Creo MBD and ability to support and lead MCAD standardization efforts.
