Federal Work Study Eligible? Yes Posting Number ST001069 Position Title Oesterle Library Student Assistant Department Library Division Academic Affairs Supervisor Allison Isztok Supervisor Title Access Services Manager Description of Job Duties
Students will be responsible for staffing the Circulation Desk and/or the Information Desk, and assisting Oesterle Library staff in various units.
  • Exhibit welcoming demeanor at all times and assist patrons with courtesy.
  • Observe and enforce all rules and regulations of the library.
  • Verify patron status and charge/discharge materials.
  • Answer questions related to the library (collections, services, etc.), and other learning commons offices, as appropriate.
  • Efficiently transition the patron to reference services staff or learning commons staff for additional assistance.
  • Maintain work schedule and follow appropriate procedures when unable to work a shift.
  • Shelve books and maintain the library stacks
  • Retrieve materials from the stacks and photocopy articles for interlibrary loan
  • Filing, fill paper and toner, and complete projects and other jobs relating to this unit.
  • May also assist with other projects as assigned.
