Job description

Library Assistant

Duxbury Public Schools is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Library Assistant at the Duxbury Middle School/Duxbury High School for the 26-27 school year. The library is a shared facility between the two schools and offers a variety of supports and resources to our entire grade 6-12 student population.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, Associates Degree considered with relevant experience
  • Experience working in a library environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues to meet the needs of every student.
  • Assist the DMS/DHS Librarian with cataloging, database updates, student monitoring, stocking of materials and other assigned duties.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to accept constructive feedback from the supervisor.
  • Demonstrate discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Additionally, the role would require assisting teachers and their students who are utilizing the facility for research and instruction.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
