Job description

OLH Technical Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, a federal government contractor, is seeking a Media Specialist to join the team in Newport, Rhode Island. This position supports a 24-hour operation and requires shift work. Available schedules may include first, second, or third shift, as well as occasional weekend work based on business needs. Any hours worked on Sunday are paid at one and a half (1.5) times the regular rate of pay. Each shift includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. * 1st shift: 7:30am-4pm * 2nd shift: 3:30pm-12am * 3rd shift: 11:30pm-8am Position Responsibilities: * Maintains functionality (expiration dates, incorrect labeling, etc.) for a variety of media sources, e.g., tapes, cassettes, microfiche, film, and compact disks/DVDs, in addition to introduction of new media technology. * Troubleshoots and resolves media errors and data processing problems; lower-level media specialists focus on preplanned procedures when troubleshooting, while higher level media specialist may deviate from standard operating procedures. * Maintains library of media (tapes, cassettes and microfiche), which presents few difficult data processing problems (e.g. damaged media or misplaced media). * Data processing problems, applies data processing or corrective procedures, refers problems which do not have preplanned procedures, and works under general supervision of the higher-level Media Specialists. Position Requirements: * Attention to detail is key for this position * The employee will use BITS (Base Inventory Tracking System) to barcode and track all items. * Disposal requests will be provided at the customers request using BITS and the Disposal Tracking System (DTS) * A rolling inventory is required to keep track of media up to the Secret Level. * Employee will be required to work in secured classified spaces. * Assist customers that need to locate media. * Maintains library of media (tapes, hard drives, CD/DVD, and other items) across three different buildings for Code 25 on NUWC Division Newport. * Data processing problems, applies data processing or corrective procedures, refers problems which do not have preplanned procedures, and works under general supervision of the higher-level Media Specialists. * Tours of all three building will be required to ensure all lab spaces and server rooms are kept cool. Basement tours are also required to make sure the chillers are operational and to that there are no leaking pipes.
