Position Overview

The Armed Security Specialist is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires strong situational awareness, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to respond effectively to routine and emergency situations while complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous security coverage through foot patrols, stationary posts, and surveillance monitoring during assigned shifts
  • Maintain a visible presence to deter criminal activity and ensure safety of people and property
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies, alarms, and incidents, including running short distances when necessary
  • Perform defensive or restraint techniques when required and in accordance with training and policy
  • Safely carry, draw, and operate a firearm in compliance with all legal and training requirements
  • Maintain alertness and responsiveness throughout long or overnight shifts
  • Make sound decisions in high-stress, physically and mentally demanding situations
  • Observe, assess, and report suspicious activity using strong situational awareness and peripheral vision
  • Operate security equipment including radios, flashlights, surveillance systems, and CCTV
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and legible written reports using a computer or mobile device
  • Maintain a clean, professional work environment and appearance
  • Wear required body armor or protective equipment for extended periods as needed

Physical & Sensory Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
  • Ability to sit for extended periods when assigned to stationary posts
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds

Equipment & Licensing Needed:

  • Firearm/Holster/Mag Pouch 
  • St Louis Armed Guard Card 
  • Agent ID 
  • OC Spray


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Prior experience in law enforcement, the military or security preferred
  • Must be legally eligible to carry a firearm
  • Completion of all state and/or municipal mandated firearms training
  • Successful completion of live-fire qualification demonstrating accuracy and safe handling under pressure
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a state-issued Agent Card and any required guard card(s)
  • Must pass a federal background check
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and composed in stressful or emergency situations

  • Compensation: $20/hr 
  • Armed Licensing Sponsorship Program: Qualified employees may participate in our armed guard licensing program, where the company pays licensing and training costs upfront. Employees repay the cost through scheduled payroll deductions. Upon successful completion and receipt of the armed guard card, employees will receive a bonus as an incentive for advancement.
