Job description

UWorld is seeking charismatic, knowledgeable on-screen talent with academic or professional backgrounds in English, philosophy, history, drama, theatre, or a related field to deliver engaging educational videos featuring humanities and social science content.

This is an on-camera performance role. UWorld will provide all scripts, slides, and instructional materials. Selected talent will review the materials and bring the scripts to life through clear delivery, engaging storytelling, and a strong on-camera presence.

Videos may incorporate themed sets, costumes, and creative backdrops to create memorable educational experiences for thousands of students. Filming will take place in person at UWorldโ€™s studio in Dallas, Texas. UWorld will arrange and cover round-trip airfare to Dallas for scheduled recording sessions.

UWorld is a highly collaborative, creative, and employee-centric environment that provides opportunities to educators and performers who are passionate about helping the next generation of professionals succeed. Call us geeks. Call us nerds. Call us overly obsessive. But make no mistake: UWorldโ€™s goal is to be the company people call on to help make really hard things easy to understand.

Minimum Education Required
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or higher in English, philosophy, history, drama, theatre, or a closely related field
Minimum Experience Required
  • Experience with public speaking, acting, stage performance, or educational media
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred but not required
  • Experience recording lectures, educational videos, podcasts, filmed performances, or similar media is a plus
Required Skills
  • Exceptional reading comprehension and analytical reasoning
  • Strong vocal delivery, articulation, pacing, and expression
  • Confidence and comfort speaking on camera
  • An engaging, energetic presence with the ability to make reading and analysis approachable
  • Ability to interpret and deliver scripted material naturally and authentically
  • Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with production and education teams
  • Ability to receive and apply direction and constructive feedback
  • Strong preparation, organization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to meet established project and filming deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Availability to travel to Dallas, Texas, for scheduled recording sessions
Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as the on-screen talent for scripted educational videos
  • Review and internalize scripts and slide presentations provided by UWorld
  • Deliver scripted content clearly, naturally, and engagingly on camera
  • Work under the direction of the Project Manager-Video Lead during filming
  • Participate in rehearsals or preparation sessions as needed (scripts will be on teleprompter during filming)
  • Receive and apply performance direction and constructive feedback
  • Arrive prepared for scheduled filming sessions
  • Collaborate with project management to meet production deadlines
  • This position does not involve writing scripts, developing instructional content, or independently preparing lectures. All scripts and core educational materials will be provided.
Filming and Travel

  • UWorld will arrange and cover round-trip airfare to Dallas for scheduled filming sessions.
  • Recording dates will be coordinated with selected talent in advance.
  • Work will primarily be completed during scheduled preparation and filming sessions.
Compensation
  • Up to $50 per hour
  • Project-based contract role
  • Work completed primarily during scheduled filming sessions in Dallas, Texas
