Art Academy of Cincinnati Adjunct Faculty – Department of Liberal Arts (Open Applicant Pool)

Position: Adjunct Faculty

Job Summary:

The Art Academy of Cincinnati (AAC) is seeking applicants for its pool of adjunct faculty in the Department of Liberal Arts. Applicants holding advanced degrees or equivalent experience in Art History, Creative Writing, Philosophy, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences are encouraged to apply. See the Academic Catalog for the current list of courses offered in the department.

Teaching opportunities are dependent upon the needs of the college each semester. Assignments may require teaching day or evening classes as needed. Interested applicants who have previously applied for the adjunct pool should resubmit materials to this posting.

Note: This is a face-to-face position; instructors are expected to be on campus.

 

Essential duties include:

  • design classes appropriate to AAC curriculum utilizing the approved syllabus template, existing course descriptions, and approved learner outcomes
  • perform all assigned duties and responsibilities of instructional staff as detailed in the AAC Employee Handbook and the AAC Faculty Handbook
  • guarantee semester contact hours
  • host one open office hour per week online or in-person
  • participate in the Early Alert Process which identifies students that are not attending or performing poorly
  • maintain student attendance records and submit Midterm and Final course grades on time using the Student Information System (SIS)

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent experience
  • Strong time management and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills 
  • official transcript showing completion of highest degree earned must be submitted before start of employment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree in a relevant field of study
  • Experience in active learning pedagogies
