Job Summary:

Are you passionate about helping skilled nursing and long-term care organizations improve financial performance and operational effectiveness? As a Consultant II in Wipfli's Healthcare Consulting Practice, you'll partner with clients to assess revenue cycle operations, implement process improvements, optimize reimbursement, and drive measurable results.

Under the direction of a Senior Consultant, the Consultant II independently manages client engagements, delivers high-quality consulting services, and helps clients navigate operational and reimbursement challenges while ensuring exceptional client service

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development efforts for revenue cycle consulting opportunities within skilled nursing and long-term care organizations.

  • Lead client engagements and develop tailored solutions to improve SNF revenue cycle performance, reimbursement, and operational efficiency.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of SNF revenue cycle functions, including admissions, payer authorization, MDS-driven reimbursement, billing, collections, and denials management.

  • Analyze revenue cycle workflows, identify process improvement opportunities, and implement best practice solutions to improve financial outcomes.

  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR), billing, and revenue cycle systems to evaluate performance, identify trends, and support client recommendations.

  • Lead change management initiatives and support clients through the implementation and adoption of revenue cycle improvements.

  • Monitor industry regulations, reimbursement methodologies, and payer requirements impacting skilled nursing providers and recommend appropriate operational responses.

  • Manage project execution by tracking progress, mitigating risks, maintaining documentation, and ensuring successful completion of client engagements.

  • Develop and deliver presentations, training, and educational programs to strengthen client knowledge and support long-term performance improvement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute revenue cycle operations.

  • Strong knowledge of SNF reimbursement methodologies, including Medicare Part A, Medicare Part B, Managed Care, Medicaid, PDPM, billing, collections, denials, and appeals.

  • Experience analyzing and optimizing revenue cycle workflows, processes, and financial performance.

  • Knowledge of revenue cycle key performance indicators (KPIs), benchmarking, and data analysis.

  • Experience with SNF electronic health record (EHR), billing, and revenue cycle management systems.

  • Project management, consulting, or client-facing experience preferred.

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and relationship management skills.

  • Ability to develop and deliver training and education to operational and revenue cycle teams.

  • RHIA, CRCR, CPC, or other applicable Revenue Cycle credential preferred.

The estimated base pay range for this role is $60,000 to $81,000, with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases.
