Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Payroll Specialist (Mid-Level) to support payroll operations for a diverse technical and administrative workforce. The specialist will ensure accurate payroll processing, compliance with federal labor standards, and timely support for employees and internal stakeholders. This role is fully onsite in Ashburn, Virginia. Candidates must have the ability to obtain a security clearance. Responsibilities * Payroll Processing - Execute bi-weekly payroll cycles including hours, leave, deductions, and adjustments.
* Timekeeping Validation - Review timesheets for compliance with organizational and federal requirements.
* Issue Resolution - Research and resolve discrepancies related to pay, leave, or timekeeping.
* Employee Support - Provide guidance on payroll policies, procedures, and system navigation.
* Reporting - Prepare payroll summaries, reconciliation reports, and audit documentation.
* Record Maintenance - Maintain accurate payroll records and support system updates.
* Audit Assistance - Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
Qualifications Include: * 2-4 years of payroll experience.
* Knowledge of federal labor standards and timekeeping requirements.
* Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Paycom, Deltek Costpoint preferred).
* Understanding of FLSA, PTO accruals, and multi-state payroll rules.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to interpret and apply payroll policies consistently.
