Job Summary

The Event Supervisor is responsible for directing and responding to guest guestions and needs. The supervisor initially meets the staff at the beginning of a shift and checks them in for the event. In addition, the Supervisor will go over event details with the directors. The supervisor should understand the content of the menu and ensure the timely delivery of food. Strict fllowing of food and safety guidelines are required. The supervisor oversees the breakdown of the event once it is concluded. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meets with the directors before the event to go over details
  • Ensure all food and beverage is properly displayed and maintained throughout the event.
  • Knowledgeable on all menu offerings.
  • Establishes rapport with guests and understands suggestive and upselling techniques. 
  • Thoroughly completes all event set-up and breakdown responsibilities within timelines provided.
  • Create, modify and close sales checks in point of sale.
  • Adheres to location appearance guidelines. 
  • Assists in ordering and keeping inventory of products. 
  • Maintains product cost and labor cost according to budget.
  • Supervises and trains hourly staff to ensure policy and procedures are implemented.
  • Maintains consistent, efficient service during peak hours.
  • Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
  • Follows responsible alcohol service policies. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Stand for long periods of time and be able to actively engage physically with guests.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • React with physical and mental alertness in emergency situations. 
  • Demonstrate physical stamina and agility required to be mobile for long periods throughout the day. 
  • Lift/move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds. 
  • Move from sitting to standing position easily and quickly.
