The Position:
As a Mechanical Designer, you will provide essential technical support, creating comprehensive designs, and ensuring compliance with project requirements while working in collaboration with engineers, architects, and other professionals. The Designer is expected to employ computer-aided design (CAD) software to design and modify project plans and use their experience to solve problems, pay attention to detail, and apply their in-depth understanding of mechanical engineering principles and industry best practices. Your extensive experience in mechanical engineering design will be instrumental in driving innovation and achieving project goals.
Position Responsibilities:
All Levels
  • Provide computer-aided design (CAD) drafting, prepare drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, vendor data, and sketches
  • Coordinate and consult with engineers or other designers to complete projects, ensuring adherence to established specifications and standards
  • Support equipment sizing & selection, alternative analyses, and other deliverables
  • Support the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities
  • Present design deliverables to project members, cross-functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Plan, forecast, and actualize deliverable progress to support project reporting and schedule requirements
  • Identify scope changes and estimate impact to effort and schedule
  • Prepare, review, and approve mechanical equipment and piping BOMs and designs

Level IV
  • Support proposal efforts by evaluating RFP scope, identifying list of deliverables, and estimating effort required
  • Participate in project scoping, planning, status reporting, and scope management
  • Work is highly independent

Level V
  • All responsibilities of level IV
  • Monitor progress and performance against the project plan and proactively address issues.
  • Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility
  • Work Autonomously

Qualifications:
  • 4 - 7+ years experience, depending on the level of the position
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree or equivalent preferred
  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and 3D CAD experience required
