Job description

Work is changing quickly-driven by artificial intelligence, automation, and shifting business needs-and organizations need disciplined ways to manage what that change means for people. On the Workforce Design team, you will support initiatives that translate changing work into workforce actions: role evolution, skills shifts, talent implications, and change support. You'll contribute to structured "plays" that help leaders move from insights to implementation with clarity and rigor. This role blends analysis, stakeholder coordination, and clear communication in a high-impact environment.

As an Associate in the Workforce Design team, you will support the execution of workforce transformation initiatives focused on the workforce and employee implications of changing work. You will help deliver structured "play" outputs that enable role evolution, skills shifts, and implementation readiness. Working alongside senior team members and cross-functional partners, you will contribute analysis, stakeholder coordination, and clear, executive-ready materials that help leaders make informed decisions and manage change effectively.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support Play intake and scoping by collecting inputs, documenting scope boundaries, and preparing stakeholder-ready materials for kickoff discussions
  • Assist task-level baseline efforts by organizing process/job inputs, structuring task inventories, and capturing time-on-task estimates in a consistent format
  • Enable stakeholder validation sessions by drafting agendas, capturing decisions, and updating materials through iterative calibration cycles
  • Support human/technology/hybrid task analysis by documenting task determinations, clarifying the defined "human role" in hybrid tasks, and tracking open questions for business and technology partners
  • Contribute to cross-function workflow mapping (Play 4) by documenting handoffs, dependencies, and cascade effects across functions in the end-to-end process
  • Support employee mapping enablement by organizing task-based mapping inputs and preparing materials for manager/practitioner review (task similarity as the primary lens; skills as secondary where available)
  • Assist downstream impact analysis by coordinating inputs and tracking implications across talent acquisition, performance management, career pathways, systems/data, and learning portfolio impacts
  • Develop crisp, executive-ready deliverables (slides, summaries, decision logs) that translate complex analysis into clear options and next steps
  • Support change and communications execution by preparing manager-ready materials (FAQs, talking points) and reinforcing sequencing so employees hear changes before they appear in systems
  • Maintain strong project hygiene (workplans, risks/issues, stakeholder lists, artifact repositories) to ensure high-quality delivery across multiple workstreams

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in Human Resources, workforce initiatives, analytics, strategy, operations, or consulting (or a comparable combination of education and experience)
  • Strong analytical and problem-structuring skills, with ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative inputs into clear takeaways
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, including comfort producing executive-ready materials under time constraints
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including ability to document decisions, translate ambiguity into structure, and tailor messaging to different stakeholders
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, including ability to manage multiple deliverables, dependencies, and deadlines in a matrixed environment.
  • High attention to detail and quality, including comfort working with structured templates and iterative review cycles
  • Professional maturity and discretion when supporting sensitive workforce topics (role changes, mapping discussions, and communications preparation).

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience supporting operating model / process mapping / workflow documentation
  • Familiarity with task-based job architecture concepts or workforce transformation methods
  • Experience supporting change management deliverables (manager toolkits, FAQs, rollout coordination)
  • Interest in artificial intelligence and automation and their implications for tasks, roles, and skills.
