Job Summary: Mechanical CAD Design Engineer Level 2
About the Role
Indotronix is seeking a talented Mechanical CAD Design Engineer Level 2 for a dynamic onsite role in Chandler, AZ (85286). Join our Mechanical and Energetics department to create, review, and optimize high-impact mechanical designs using Siemens NX 2412 and Teamcenter. This is a 12+ month contract with the potential to transition to a full-time position—ideal for professionals looking to advance their design engineering career in an innovative, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review detailed mechanical drawing packages, ensuring compliance with industry and military standards
- Conduct tolerance analysis, hardware selection, and fitment verification on assembly prints for manufacturability and functionality
- Model fully defined components and assemblies efficiently using Siemens NX 2412 managed with Teamcenter
- Create and revise parametric drawings in alignment with ASME 3D modeling and drawing standards
- Verify 3D models submitted to manufacturing and resolve GD&T interpretation issues
- Liaise with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution
- Supervise and direct staff activities as required
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to project schedules under tight deadlines
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- 5-20 years of experience in mechanical design, CAD, and engineering
- Expert proficiency with Siemens NX (preferably NX 2412), Teamcenter, and CAD software
- Demonstrated knowledge of ASME modeling and drawing standards
- Strong grasp of GD&T, mechanical fit, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven time management and organizational abilities
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CATIA
- Prior vendor liaison and staff supervision experience
