We're seeking a Level 4 Software Engineer to lead the migration of a software development network to an AWS GovCloud-based system. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll own critical infrastructure modernization, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to establish pipelines, configure development environments, and drive daily collaboration on complex technical initiatives. You'll be responsible for architecting and implementing AWS GovCloud solutions, managing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring development teams have the tools and infrastructure they need to operate efficiently. This role reports directly to the Engineering and Technical Operations management team and is central to modernizing the company's development infrastructure. The impact of this work is significantโ€”you're enabling the entire engineering organization to operate on secure, scalable, compliant infrastructure while maintaining agility and speed. Duties and Responsibilities โ€ข Design and implement AWS GovCloud infrastructure to support software development operations and CI/CD pipelines. โ€ข Set up and configure GitLab pipelines, including YAML configuration and pipeline troubleshooting. โ€ข Establish development environment configurations, including Nexus and Artifactory artifact management. โ€ข Manage and optimize Jira workflows and project tracking to align with development processes. โ€ข Develop and maintain C++ and Python applications supporting the migration and infrastructure deployment. โ€ข Conduct daily collaboration with engineering teams, including pair programming sessions and design reviews. โ€ข Implement and troubleshoot CI/CD processes to ensure reliable builds and deployments. โ€ข Develop software estimates and contribute improvement ideas to foster a culture of continuous improvement. โ€ข Mentor team members on AWS GovCloud best practices, GitLab pipelines, and development tooling. โ€ข Ensure compliance with government security requirements and operational standards.
