What is a Level 1 Childcare worker?

Level 1 Childcare workers are entry-level professionals who assist in providing care and supervision for young children in childcare centers or early learning environments. They typically support more experienced staff by helping with activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of children, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Level 1 is generally the starting point in a childcare career and may require completion of a basic certification course or orientation. These workers play a vital role in supporting children's development and helping to create a positive, nurturing atmosphere.

What are the typical responsibilities of a Level 1 Childcare worker?

As a Level 1 Childcare worker, your daily tasks usually involve supporting more experienced staff in supervising children, assisting with basic care routines like feeding and diaper changes, and helping set up activities that foster learning and play. You’ll interact closely with children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Collaboration is key, as you’ll work as part of a team to maintain a positive, nurturing environment and communicate any concerns about a child’s development or behavior to senior staff. Gaining experience in this entry-level role can help you build the foundational skills needed for career advancement in early childhood education.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Level 1 Childcare worker?

A Level 1 Childcare worker typically needs a basic understanding of child development, safety protocols, and a relevant entry-level certification such as a Level 1 Early Childhood Education (ECE) certificate. Familiarity with daily care routines, activity planning, and documentation systems like attendance or incident logs is expected. Patience, strong communication, and a nurturing attitude are important soft skills for building trust with children and collaborating with families and colleagues. These skills and qualities ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children’s growth and well-being.

Job description

At Bretz RV & Marine, our culture is built around our core values of passion, teamwork, growth, family, and profitability. As the largest RV and marine dealership group in the five-state region, we're committed to creating a workplace where employees can build rewarding careers while making a meaningful impact. We invest in our people, provide opportunities for growth, and believe that great teams are built by supporting one another both at work and at home.
One of the ways we live those values is through our on-site childcare center. We know that finding dependable, high-quality childcare can be one of the biggest challenges for working parents. That's why we've created a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where our employees' children can learn, grow, and thrive while their parents are at work.
We're looking for an Early Childhood Teacher to join our childcare team. Whether you have experience as a preschool teacher, childcare teacher, daycare teacher, nanny, paraprofessional, or are building a career in Early Childhood Education, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact while growing your own career in a supportive, family-oriented environment.
Our Early Childhood Teachers play an important role in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow. • Prepare children for the next stage of development and school readiness
• Partner with parents to support educational and behavioral goals
• Assist with lesson preparation and classroom activities
• Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards
• Support fellow teachers and assist with additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Passion for working with children and early childhood education
• Positive attitude with a patient, caring, and dependable personality
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast paced childcare environment
• Professionalism, reliability, and adaptability
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, and assist children weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the workday
