These facilities are state-of-the-art and offer top quality athletic lessons to the students. There are over 100 locations open in the US and is continuing to grow rapidly. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for supporting the General Manager by providing leadership and daily direction to lower level managers and staff. The ideal candidate would have the ability to build lasting relationships with staff as well as with prospective and current members in order to build a strong business and retain members.

Assistant General Manager Job Duties Include:

  • Manage, mentor, coach, develop, and evaluate the performance of all lower-level managers and staff
  • Build rapport and lasting relationships with prospective and current members
  • Greets members and guests promptly, enthusiastically and with a smile to create a fun and positive entrance for children and families
  • Work with General Manager on setting Monthly, weekly, and daily targets for meeting goals
  • Properly managing and exceeding membership sales and operational budgets
  • Monitor the hiring, training, and scheduling of all lower-level staff alongside General Manager
  • Comply and enforce all company policy and procedure for daily operation
  • Practice leading by example to train and mentor employees for ongoing success and future growth
  • Conduct regular in-service trainings and performance reviews to ensure lower-level staff is providing quality lessons up to company standards
  • Plan, promote, and participate in networking/community events and program promotions to effectively market and generate member leads
  • Communicate with staff on member feedback, equipment and operational status, scheduling, and subbing
  • Responsible for recruiting and on-boarding new employees alongside General Manager
  • Build and maintain member class size through scheduling optimization
  • Develop a high energy workplace culture through contests and incentive-based motivation
  • Ensure company branding through consistency and continuity in all actions
  • Responsible for meeting performance metrics (KPIโ€™s), revenue, ordering, inventory, payroll, cost controls and facilities maintenance
  • All other duties assigned

A successful Assistant General Manager candidate should have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelorโ€™s degree preferred but not required
  • Management experience required, including directly overseeing all aspects of staff management from hiring, training, supporting, discipline, and termination
  • Must be eager to learn and continue professional development and education
  • Must be friendly, vibrant, and outgoing
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Previous sales experience, with strong sales skills (experience working in a membership-based facility preferred)
  • Leadership amp; management experience with children in recreation, sports, swimming, aquatics, fitness, gym, retail, athletics, coaching, summer camp, daycare, education, waterpark, entertainment, etc. preferred
  • Able to multi-task and excel in a busy and team-oriented environment
  • Flexible to workday, evening and/or weekend hours as needed
