Job Description

Position Summary: The Application Systems Analyst is responsible for configuring, customizing, supporting, and optimizing loan application systems to meet business needs and support efficient lending processes. This role works closely with the Manager, Application Systems, Lending Department Owners, and Department Application Analysts to ensure systems are effectively aligned with operational requirements and organizational goals.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

Collaborate with the Manager, Application Systems to ensure support the effectiveness and ongoing success of enterprise-wide loan origination and application systems. Partner with Lending Department Owners, Business Analysts, and operational stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional business requirements for Loan Application Systems. Develop a strong understanding of lending business processes and workflows to identify system enhancements that improve operational efficiency, user experience, regulatory compliance, and member service. Assist business stakeholders with making simple system configurations within Loan Application Systems. Configure and customize Loan Application Systems to support business requirements, partnering with Application Developers and technical resources as needed. Collaborate with developers and third-party vendors on complex configurations, integrations, enhancements, and system troubleshooting. Coordinate and support deployments of system configurations, customizations, and enhancements into production environments. Participate in the preparation and execution of test plans, test cases, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for system changes. Serve as the primary point of contact for Loan Application System inquiries, issues, and enhancement requests, coordinating resolution with appropriate internal and external resources. Monitor and analyze system performance metrics, user adoption, workflow efficiency, and operational effectiveness to identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement. Support data integrity and accuracy within Loan Application Systems through regular audits, validation, and data quality reviews. Maintain system documentation, business process documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures. Create training materials, user guides, and system administration documentation, and conduct training sessions to support adoption and ongoing education. Assist with vendor management activities, including issue resolution, enhancement requests, and release reviews. Evaluate new product features and system capabilities, providing recommendations and implementation support. Ensure application configurations and processes comply with regulatory requirements, security standards, and organizational policies. Assume additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth and advancement of the credit union.

Knowledge/Skills

Ability to gather, document, and manage business and technical requirements. Strong understanding of loan origination, loan application processing, underwriting workflows, and lending operations. Proficiency in business process mapping, workflow analysis, and process optimization. Ability to configure and support enterprise applications using no-code and low-code platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into system solutions. Experience troubleshooting application issues and coordinating resolution efforts across business and technical teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to manage projects, including planning, execution, testing, and implementation activities. Strong focus on providing excellent customer service and support. Understanding of financial products, lending services, and regulatory requirements specific to credit unions and banks. Knowledge of system integrations, APIs, data imports/exports, and automation technologies. Proficiency in change management practices, including user training and organizational adoption. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance within enterprise applications.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelorโ€™s degree in information technology, business administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience. 2+ yearsโ€™ experience supporting applications, systems, or technology solutions within a credit union, bank, or financial services organization. Experience working with Loan Origination Systems (LOS), Loan Application Systems, or other lending technology platforms. Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and supporting enterprise system implementations, configurations, enhancements, and process improvements. Experience working with Business Process Management (BPM) solutions. Experience working within Agile methodologies and project teams. Working knowledge of lending operations and process, such as consumer, mortgage, and/or commercial lending. Experience working collaboratively with business stakeholders and technical teams to identify requirements, resolve systems issues, and implementations.
