Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Secretary to join our team.

The Legal Secretary will provide administrative support to our legal team and assist with various tasks related, but not limited to:

  • Filing complaints, motions such as MSJs etc. in state and federal courts
  • Preparing Proof of Service and serving opposing counsel
  • Calendaring all statutory deadlines and updating calendar with changing statutory deadlines
  • Calendaring events such as hearings, depositions etc.
  • Prepare shells and master caption templates
  • Collect and record costs per case
  • Have a strong knowledge of One Legal filing software
  • Have a strong knowledge of Essential Forms
  • Have a strong knowledge of MS and Adobe
  • Strong background in project management
  • Be a proactive problem solver
  • Experience working with experts and handling expert file
  • Not afraid to pick up the phone and call courts, custodian of records, police department etc., opposing counsel to obtain necessary information to advance client’s interest
  • Experience with Bates Stamping documents
  • Experience preparing pre-trial documents and trial binders such as evidence binders
  • Experience ensuring witnesses show up to testify for trial
  • Fun, great humor, and willing to take ownership of work
  • Willing to learn and grow in fast pace moving environment
  • Have a strong understanding of statutory deadlines
