Description

Hall & Evans is seeking a candidate with legal assistant or paralegal experience, preferably 5+ years, to support its complex civil litigation practice in our Salt Lake City office. This position can require billable hours.ย ย 


This position can offer a hybrid working schedule (3 days/office and 2 days/home) after successfully completing the training period.ย 

Requirements

  • Legal Assistant or Paralegal experience, 5+ years preferred;
  • Assemble and file documents electronically;
  • Prepare motion and discovery shells, motion filing;
  • Expert coordination for depositions and trials;
  • Assist with preparation of trial/mediation/arbitration documents;
  • Interface professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court clerks;
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;
  • Excellent technology skills;
  • Process payment requests and coordinate the client billing process;
  • Maintain client files and contact information;
  • Schedule meetings, conference calls, depositions, court hearings, and travel arrangements;
  • Outlook/LSS calendaring and iManage document management program experience is highly preferred;
  • Well-developed skills in editing, proofreading, and grammar;
  • Ability to anticipate problems, find solutions, and prioritize work accordingly;
  • Well-developed time management and organizational skills;
  • Effectively manage a high-volume workload with critical deadlines;
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of personal integrity, confidentiality, tact, discretion, and judgment;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel);
  • Knowledge of manipulation and editing of PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat;
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary;
  • Other administrative tasks, as assigned; and
  • Complex defense litigation experience is highly preferred.

Education

  • Minimum of high school graduation required;
  • Business school, related professional legal secretarial degree, or paralegal certificate strongly preferred.
