Job Summary and Qualifications The internship will provide candidates with insight to the daily activities and requirements for sourcing, negotiating, managing, and maintaining an extensive contract portfolio targeting a diverse group of healthcare entities. This opportunity is designed to encourage growth over time. Intern candidates can potentially return to HealthTrust for subsequent internships to continue growing in key areas of responsibility. The candidate for this internship will be responsible for assisting with project management, operational execution, and contract document management. Candidates who excel in these responsibilities and in their ability to interact in a professional setting have the potential to be considered for permanent employment.

In addition to the duties outlined below, the candidate will be included in an array of meetings/discussions that will provide them with learning experiences related to:

  • Learning to debate/discuss/decide on sourcing strategies
  • Understanding how contract award decisions are made 
  • Learning about the operational, clinical, technical and financial considerations that are necessary and important to healthcare providers and patient care 
  • Learning which contract terms and conditions are important to consider and why 
  • Understanding supply chain transparency / resiliency and what factors should be considered as one makes product selection and supplier partnership decisions

In addition to the duties outlined below, the candidate will be included in an array of meetings/discussions that will provide them with learning experiences related to:

Learning about the operational, clinical, technical and financial considerations that are necessary and important to healthcare providers and patient care 

Learning which contract terms and conditions are important to consider and why 

Understanding supply chain transparency / resiliency and what factors should be considered as one makes product selection and supplier partnership decisions

Duties (included but not limited to): 

  • Operational tasks related to sourcing events including maintenance to our Contract Lifecycle Management system (CLM) to ensure accurate reporting to our internal and external customers (โ€œmembersโ€) 
  • Document Management including contract package development to assist our members in operationalizing the agreements at a local level 
  • Project Management oversight including managing the multiple entry points of information into the sourcing event process and ensuring timeline targets are met

What qualifications you will need:

  • Rising Juniors, and Seniors in Supply Chain Management or other related Business Majors 
  • Team player with the ability to build and establish relationships with sourcing team.
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply learnings in a business setting. Self-starter, good email and verbal communication skills as well as time management capability.
