The salary range for this temp position is $43.50 - $55.00 per hour. Offered salary is dependent upon experience and San Francisco location. This is a hybrid role based in our downtown San Francisco office - Tues through Thursday in-office, with Monday and Friday remote.
The Kendo house of brands currently includes: Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, Fenty Eau de Parfum, Fenty Hair, Ole Henriksen, Lip Lab.
SUMMARY
This role is on the Emerging Brands team at Kendo, splitting time between digital copy (50%), social media copy (30%) and packaging copy (20%). You thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in seeing the impact generated by your writing-in email subject lines, social posts, beauty-product packaging and more. In this job, you'll be responsible for digital copy assets for OLEHENRIKSEN and LIP LAB, including website updates, product pages, performance marketing, paid search, blog posts, email campaigns and SMS campaigns. You have a passion for and deep understanding of makeup and skincare-in fact, you just might be the friend everyone goes to for beauty advice. You know the difference between a matte, satin or sheer finish in a lipstick. You know why vitamin C is a such an important antioxidant, and you understand why the skin barrier needs to be strong. As part of our team, you'll use this knowledge to create compelling, successful digital and social content while assisting with proofreading and packaging copy.
The Temp Copy Manager, Emerging Brands reports into the Director of Copy, Emerging Brands.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner closely with Director of Copy to optimize brand and campaign copy for digital channels
  • Write all digital and social content in the channels outlined above
  • Implement the brand voice and editorial style guide seamlessly in everything you do
  • Attend project kickoffs and examine various types of project briefs, paying close attention to marketing objectives and copy requests
  • Execute clean, detail-oriented, on-brief copy that engages and converts
  • Partner with the design team to ensure copy is correctly flowed into design, finding solutions to integrate words and visuals most effectively
  • Take ownership of deadlines, following up on project updates, making any necessary edits and maintaining copy docs as the single source of truth
  • Understand legal and regulatory requirements for each product and implementing them consistently in your work
  • Support the team with conscientious proofreading on packaging and digital projects
  • Stay current on beauty industry trends, social trends and competitors

REQUIREMENTS
  • College degree: BA preferred or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' copywriting experience, digital preferred
  • Beauty experience preferred
  • Meticulous proofreader who can compare documents in multiple languages (please note: fluency in multiple languages is not required)
  • Experience implementing learnings from digital metrics (email open rates, conversion, A/B testing, etc.) a plus
  • Creative self-starter; ability to navigate a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ease and polish in presenting in a variety of settings: small/large groups, managers, formal presentations
  • Solid organizational skills, an eye for detail, time management skills, ability to juggle priorities
  • Strong relationship-building skills; ability to work with a variety of people in various disciplines
  • The drive to excel and succeed; self-motivated
  • Firm grasp of current skincare, beauty and social media trends
