Job description

A well-established litigation firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Legal Assistant to join their fast-paced office. This role requires at least 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in commercial litigation. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, has strong organizational skills, and excels in communication. Prior experience in insurance defense is preferred.Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily support to attorneys and paralegals in general liability litigation.
  • Handle administrative duties such as scheduling, coordinating meetings, managing case files, and answering calls.
  • Schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, conferences, and other legal proceedings.
  • Compile, organize, and prepare case documents, binders, and records.
  • Maintain and update electronic case files with relevant information.
  • Calendar deadlines and important case events to ensure timely filings.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or legal secretary.
  • Strong understanding of legal procedures and terminology.
  • Proficiency in electronic filing for state and federal courts.
  • Familiarity with Federal and Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Knowledge of litigation processes and court procedures, including Florida E-Filing (ECF).
  • Experience with trial preparation and document organization.
