Concrete Pump Operator / CDL Driver

Company Overview-Louisiana Concrete Pumpers provides concrete pumping services across Louisiana. From our Baton Rouge yard, our operators support residential, commercial, industrial, and public works construction projects. We are committed to safe work, dependable service, and professional support for contractors and jobsite crews.-Job Overview-Louisiana Concrete Pumpers is hiring a Concrete Pump Operator / CDL Driver for our Baton Rouge, LA location. This is a field-based position. Operators report to the Baton Rouge yard, pick up the concrete pump truck, travel to assigned job sites, and work in the field throughout the day. The operator is responsible for safely driving, setting up, operating, cleaning, and maintaining concrete pumping equipment. This role works closely with dispatch, contractors, hosemen, ready-mix drivers, finishers, spotters, and other jobsite crews. Concrete pumping experience is preferred. Prior CDL driving experience is required. Candidates with experience in concrete, ready-mix, heavy equipment, construction, industrial work, boom trucks, or field equipment operation may also be a good fit.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely drive and operate concrete pump trucks on residential, commercial, industrial, and public works jobsites.
  • Report to the Baton Rouge yard and travel to assigned job sites.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Report equipment problems, safety concerns, or maintenance needs right away.
  • Set up pump equipment, outriggers, cribbing, hoses, clamps, reducers, and related parts.
  • Check jobsite conditions before pumping, including access, ground conditions, traffic, overhead hazards, and power lines.
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch, contractors, hosemen, spotters, ready-mix drivers, and jobsite crews.
  • Monitor pump pressure, concrete flow, line conditions, material consistency, and jobsite hazards during pours.
  • Complete washout, cleanup, and daily equipment care after each job.
  • Maintain daily logs, inspection records, job paperwork, and safety documentation.
  • Follow company safety rules, DOT requirements, customer site rules, and applicable regulations.
  • Represent the company professionally with customers, contractors, and other trades.

Requirements

  • Class A or Class B CDL required.
  • Prior driving experience required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Driving record must meet company and insurance requirements.
  • Must be able to complete required DOT pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and company safety requirements.
  • Must be dependable, on time, and able to work a changing jobsite schedule.
  • Must be able to work early mornings, overtime, and local/regional jobsite travel as needed.
  • Must be able to work outside in heat, rain, mud, traffic, noise, and active construction conditions.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, connect, and handle hoses, clamps, tools, and jobsite equipment.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and work safely around contractors, equipment, and other crews.
  • Must be willing to stop work or report concerns when conditions are unsafe.

Preferred Experience

  • 2 years of concrete pumping experience preferred.
  • Boom pump, line pump, trailer pump, or placing boom experience.
  • Ready-mix, concrete truck, or CDL construction driving experience.
  • Heavy equipment, boom truck, crane, industrial, commercial construction, or civil construction experience.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to identify equipment issues.
  • Experience working around plants, industrial sites, highway projects, bridge work, or large construction jobsites.
