FACULTY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT Part-Time Lecturer Pool Position POSITION AVAILABLE

One or more temporary, part-timelecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2026,and/or Spring Semester 2027.

THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Management offers coursesand concentrations at both the undergraduate (BSBA) and graduate(MBA) levels in the following areas: Human Resource Management andOrganizational Behavior, Operations and Supply Chain Management,Strategic Management and International Business, InformationTechnology Management and Entrepreneurship. The department offerscourses in MS in Business Analytics program. The department has 28tenured and tenure-track faculty, and a number of lecturers.

DUTIES OF THE POSITION

Part-time employment teachingundergraduate and graduate level courses in the areas of HumanResource and Organizational Behavior, Information TechnologyManagement, Operations and Supply Chain Management, StrategicManagement/International Business, Entrepreneurship and BusinessAnalytics combined with artificial intelligence (AI) leveragesmaching learning, data mining, and deep learning. Please note thatteaching assignments at California State University, East Bay mayinclude courses at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, and/oronline. The policy and expectation of the California StateUniversity is that all faculty members will perform all of theirduties within the state of California.

RANK AND SALARY

Lecturer. Salary is dependent uponeducational preparation and experience. Position appointment issubject to budgetary authorization.

The salary schedule information for the Lecturer - Academic YearClassification is available based on the following ranges:

  • Lecturer AY (Range 2) - $5,507 - $6,677
  • Lecturer AY (Range 3) - $6,221 - $13,224
  • Lecturer AY (Range 4) - $6,825 - $14,523
  • Lecturer AY (Range 5) - $8,593 - $15,211

The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education andexperience.

DATE OF APPOINTMENT

Fall Semester begins August 17, 2026;Spring Semester begins January 19, 2027.

QUALIFICATION

Minimum Degree Requirement: Master’s degree(or equivalent) in business or economics. Ph.D. in business oreconomics preferred. Degree from AACSB accredited institutionpreferred.

In addition: Have professional experience at the time ofappointment that is significant in duration and level ofresponsibility, and consistent with area of teachingresponsibilities.

Or: With a research Ph.D. in business or economics, must have acurrent research record in the teaching field. ABDs must havecompleted exams in the last three years.
