Position Summary

Mesa Systems is seeking an experienced HR Generalist who is passionate about HR operations, employment law, and delivering exceptional customer service to employees and leaders. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working within policies and procedures, thrives on accuracy, and takes pride in ensuring HR processes are compliant, consistent, and well executed.


Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Employee Support

  • Serves as a responsive and approachable resource for employees and managers, providing timely guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
  • Maintains accurate employee records and HRIS data while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Processes a variety of HR documentation with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Completes employment verifications, work authorization requests, unemployment claims, and other employment-related documentation.
  • Answers employee benefit questions and assists with benefit administration throughout the year.


Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Posts and manages job requisitions.
  • Coordinates candidate communications and hiring logistics.
  • Facilitates new hire onboarding and ensures all required employment documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Partners with hiring managers to deliver a positive candidate and onboarding experience.


Leave Administration

  • Administers employee leave programs, including Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations.
  • Prepares, processes, and maintains leave documentation while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Communicates with employees, managers, and third-party administrators regarding leave eligibility, documentation, and return-to-work processes.


Employee Relations

  • Supports managers and employees by providing guidance on HR policies and employee relations matters.
  • Assists with workplace investigations, documentation, corrective actions, and conflict resolution as appropriate.
  • Promotes fair, consistent, and legally compliant employment practices.


Compliance & HR Administration

  • Maintains employee personnel files and HR documentation in accordance with company standards and legal requirements.
  • Conducts internal HR audits to ensure documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Assists with policy administration and recommend process improvements that increase efficiency while maintaining compliance.

  • Experience administering employee benefits and HR leave programs.
  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and HR operations.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is preferred.
