Position Summary
Manages and supports employee leave of absence programs, including sick leave, short- and long-term disability, FMLA, and ADA. Ensures compliance with relevant laws and company policies while advising employees on leave-related matters and coordinating return-to-work accommodations.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Administers employee leave of absence programs, including sick leave, short- and long-term disability, FMLA, ADA, and other qualified leaves.
  • Maintains an up-to-date understanding of federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Advises employees on company policies, guidelines, and documentation requirements related to leaves of absence.
  • Monitors and tracks employee absence status, required documentation, and return-to-work dates.
  • Coordinates with managers to facilitate modified work schedules or accommodations for employees returning to work after a leave.
  • Works closely with HR, payroll, and management teams to ensure timely processing of leave requests and associated benefits.
  • Assists in the design of leave-related plans, policy updates, and vendor management.
  • Serves as a point of contact for employees with questions or concerns about their leave status or processes.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language in order to perform the various tasks of the job, including but not limited to: converse with co-workers and members of the general public, including customers; understand oral and written instructions as well as governmental regulations; respond to questions and inquiries from management and government representatives; and accurately complete various documents, reports and records required of the position.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in leave of absence administration or a similar HR role.
  • Strong knowledge of FMLA, disability leave, and other leave-related laws and regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple leave cases simultaneously with strong attention to detail.

Work Conditions and Physical Demands
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer or desk.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, handling documents, and operating office equipment.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying of office materials/boxes up to 25 lbs.
  • Adequate vision and hearing (with or without correction) to read, prepare, and communicate information.
  • Occasional movement, bending, and reaching as needed to perform office tasks or attend meetings.
  • Some travel may be required, including overnight travel.
