Leasing Specialist – Multifamily Residential

A leading regional real estate management firm is seeking an energetic and driven Leasing Specialist to join our New Jersey division. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a collaborative team, contributing to the company’s success by managing the leasing and marketing process while maintaining exceptional resident relations and delivering top-tier customer service.

This is a sales-focused position requiring consistent prospect follow-up, strong administrative skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage the leasing process from initial inquiry through move-in.

In this role, you’ll work closely with a team of professionals and report directly to the Assistant Property Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively generate, manage, and track leads, prospects, and applicants to maintain 100% occupancy and establish a three-month waiting list.

·         Respond promptly and professionally to telephone, email, and online inquiries.

  • Conduct property tours and provide prospective residents with detailed leasing information.
  • Maintain and update all marketing materials and online listings.
  • Follow up consistently with prospects to ensure timely submission of completed applications and supporting documents.
  • Review applications for qualifying criteria (excluding credit reports).
  • Coordinate lease agreements for approved applicants, ensuring completion within 48 hours.
  • Prepare and distribute move-in materials in a timely manner.
  • Conduct pre-move-in inspections and ensure apartments meet move-in ready standards.
  • Foster positive and professional relationships with current and prospective residents.
  • Address resident inquiries and assist with leasing-related concerns.
  • Monitor property curb appeal and promptly report any issues affecting property appearance or leasing activity.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of leads, applications, property tours, follow-up activities, and resident communications.
  • Generate and submit daily leasing reports.
  • Complete routine administrative tasks, including correspondence, scheduling, and document management.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Prior experience in sales, leasing, or real estate preferred.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
