Job description

Lease Operator

As a Lease Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring, optimizing, and maintaining oil and gas production and injection wells. You will ensure peak efficiency and reliability of production equipment, support Health, Environment, and Safety processes. This role requires extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. A successful candidate must have a deep understanding of oil and gas and be capable of troubleshooting various production systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Non-scheduled callouts outside normal business hours can be expected.
  • Types of wells include flowing, beam pump (with electronic pump-off controller), plunger lift, water injection, and water disposal.
  • Types of facilities include production tank batteries, flowlines, LACT (lease automatic custody transfer) facilities, water injection plants, natural gas compression, cathodic protection and metering devices (electronic gas measurement and others).
  • Job is to be performed by employing safe work practices while utilizing acceptable environmental procedures to maximize earnings while minimizing costs on assigned oil and gas producing properties.
  • Daily monitoring of multiple well sites by vehicle.
  • Test, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment and mechanical problems.
  • Perform mandatory paperwork required by customer and regulatory agencies.
  • General housekeeping and field maintenance.

Qualifications include:

  • 1+ years of Lease Operator experience required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid US Driver's License with acceptable driving record required.
  • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, MVR, agility and fit for duty.
  • Physical Requirements - Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, and stopping are required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
  • Understanding of environmental and safe work practices.
