Job description

Behavioral Support Paraprofessional
Oxford Elementary School
2026-27 School Year
Primary Function: To provide behavioral and supervisory support for students and staff within the building by working collaboratively with the building principal and Family School Liaison (FSL).



Qualifications - Education & Experience:

  1. Associate degree or passing score on ETS ParaPro Assessment required.ย 

  2. Ability to effectively relate with students, staff, and parents.
  3. Ability to assist with the instruction of students or help with work completion.
  4. The ability to manage students in individual, small group, and whole group situations.
  5. Must exhibit a pleasant personality and positive attitude toward working with students, administration, staff, and community members.
  6. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and monitor students to support behavioral outcomes.
  2. Work collaboratively with the building principal and the Family School Liaison (FSL) to plan for students' behavioral needs and reteaching.

  3. Assist students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.

  4. Coordinate noon aide support and professional learning.

  5. Attend training in Restorative Practices to be able to run circles if needed and participate in re-entry conferences if needed.

  6. Attend CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training.

  7. Participate as a member of the PBIS team and help train others as needed.

  8. Provide intervention supports such as check-in/check-out.ย 

  9. In-school suspension support.

  10. Lunch "study" support.

  11. Openly support and abide by all District Board Policies.

  12. Maintain regular and predictable in-person attendance.

  13. Support the Oxford Community Schools vision and mission.

  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
