As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you'll lead one of Marketplace Platform Reliability's strategic capability areas, driving engineering initiatives that improve reliability, operational excellence, and developer productivity across thousands of engineers. You'll partner with engineering leaders to define strategy, establish engineering standards, and execute complex cross-functional programs that strengthen how Marketplace builds, deploys, and operates software.

The Marketplace Platform Reliability team develops and maintains engineering systems that support thousands of engineers in delivering reliable, scalable, and high-performing software. The team manages platforms, operational intelligence, AI capabilities, and engineering standards to enhance productivity and system reliability. Focused on innovation and continuous improvement, members design robust, scalable solutions that support business growth while optimizing operational efficiency. Collaboration, strategic alignment, and effective program management drive technical excellence across the Marketplace organization, ensuring high-quality standards and sustained platform performance.
What you'll do:
  • Lead strategic engineering programs spanning reliability, observability, cloud optimization, or operational excellence.
  • Partner with engineering leaders to define roadmaps, align priorities, and drive execution across multiple organizations.
  • Establish engineering standards, operating mechanisms, and success metrics that improve organizational consistency and engineering maturity.
  • Use operational intelligence and data to measure outcomes, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Influence technical and business stakeholders to deliver large-scale engineering initiatives with measurable impact.

What you'll bring:
  • Experience leading complex technical programs across multiple engineering organizations.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud platforms, software delivery, reliability engineering, and operational excellence.
  • Proven ability to influence engineering strategy and drive execution through collaboration and data-driven decision making.
  • Experience defining engineering metrics, operating mechanisms, and organizational improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills with the ability to align teams around common objectives.
  • Demonstrated success delivering strategic engineering programs that improve reliability, developer productivity, or operational performance.
