Job description

Overview

We are seeking a full-time Organizational Development Partner 3 at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for providing professional development guidance to leaders and management by conducting talent reviews, creating development plans, and evaluating progress of high-performers, high-potentials, and those placed in talent pools for key positions at Garmin. The OD position will collaborate with leaders to conduct needs assessments and execute appropriate development outcomes. This position is closely aligned with the HR team, Leadership and Professional Development team, and leaders in all business segments.

Essential Functions
  • Provide guidance and support to business leaders on organizational development strategies and initiatives including the planning and execution of organization-wide talent reviews and succession development
  • Coach business leaders and associates utilizing a variety of industry benchmarked tools like 360 feedback and other assessments
  • Analyze data from talent reviews and partner with Leadership & Professional Development team members to create and evaluate programming based on needs
  • Collaborate with HR team and HR leadership to train, implement, and measure engagement survey outcomes
  • Act as a resource for business leaders to identify and implement appropriate intervention methods such as coaching, teambuilding, change management, assessments, etc.
  • Support leaders and HR team in creating associate-leader mentor matches based on skills assessments
  • Evaluate career paths and work with leaders to develop behavioral and technical competencies for career development, promotions, and succession development
  • Provide the professional development team, HR team, and leaders action items based on talent initiatives
  • Monitor progress and evaluate the effectiveness of development initiatives
  • Research trends and best practices in the field and recommend as appropriate while staying current in ability to offer best support for Garmin leaders
  • Develop reliable solutions to a wide range of leadership challenges using sound problem-solving techniques
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or Effectiveness, Psychology, or another relevant discipline AND a minimum of 5 years work experience performing a substantially similar role OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of HR practices and functions
  • Proven strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Displayed commitment and passion for developing teams and individuals
  • Demonstrated capacity to mentor or train others
  • Highly detail oriented and with the ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated effective presentation skills and public speaking ability
  • Must possess the ability to maintain flexibility to travel (up to 10% of the time)
  • Must possess previous experience and commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding business and Human Resources matters
  • Demonstrated critical reasoning and consultation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage business knowledge and HR metrics in decision making
