Job Summary and Qualifications 

The Cardiovascular Catheterization Lab Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models. The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organizationโ€™s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance. โ€‹ 


What you will do in this role: 


  • Deliver individualized nursing care to adult patients having cardiac catheterization procedures and specialized radiology procedures, including prep and recovery. 


  • Perform specialized cardiac tests on adult and pediatric patients.  


  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.  


  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.  


  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs and any other patient care.  


  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.  


  • Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments. 


What qualifications you will need: 


  • Associateโ€™s Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required; Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Nursing preferred 


  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required 


  • Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within30 days of employment start date 

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date 
  • At least 2 years of critical care experience: ICU, ER
