The Ray and Stephanie Lane Computational Biology Department (CBD) is renowned for its interdisciplinary approach to studying biological systems using computational methods. Faculty and researchers collaborate across fields such as computer science, biology, and statistics to address complex biological questions. Their work spans diverse areas including genomics, bioinformatics, systems biology, and computational neuroscience, driving innovation at the intersection of computation and life sciences.
CBD is searching for a Laboratory Assistant III to join the team! The position will help our lab by monitoring and performing routine maintenance on laboratory automation equipment, providing training on equipment use, providing advice on protocol development, preparing samples, assisting students, and such other tasks.
Core Responsibilities
  • Preparing samples and equipment for laboratory course sessions
  • Improving and/or designing laboratory exercises making use of laboratory automation, including development of protocols
  • Monitoring equipment and scheduling repair and/or maintenance as necessary
  • Delivering course content and instructing students and other duties as assigned
  • Maintaining flow cytometry equipment
  • Managing and training users of flow cytometry equipment

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree degree required.

  • A combination of education and meaningful experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
